A Snapshot

I lived in a small country town in central Victoria my entire life, the same town where I went to a primary school of only 21 children. Needless to say, I never really got to see the big city until I made the move to study at university.
Now, four years later, I have completed my double degree in Bachelor of Design/ Bachelor of Business having majored in marketing and communication design.
I have gained an exhaustive skill set in a plethora of areas, such as publication, production, innovation, data analysis, photography and illustration, giving myself a variety of newly learnt skills in the designing business industry to be able to apply to the workforce.

Experience

Social Media Manager

Bluebird Patisserie, Bendigo

In this Social Media Manager role I undertook the responsibility to operate Cafe Essence social media channels, most notably their Facebook and Instagram pages. It was in this role where I gathered content on a regularly and scheduled online uploads frequently. I was also responsible for interacting with followers and collating findings to deliver back to the owner. If complaints or integral information was gathered online, this would be presented back to the client for further action to be taken. I frequently created intricate Instagram stories in order to advertise and encourage enagagment with the brand. I too monitored the interactions with the businesses pages and analysed the data provided through these online platforms.

Social Media Content Creator

Cafe Essence, Bendigo

It is in this position I was responsible for creating content for the extremely artisanal and popular Bendigo dessert store, Bluebird Patisserie. I was employed as the content creator for the shop and was responsible for the production of high quality content that would be used to promote the brand via their online social media channels. As the store was new and opened curing COVID, it was my responsibility to draw attention and develop publicity for the business through the use of engaging quality content, with a strong focus on photography to showcase the pastry intricacies and employee morale. I worked closely with the owner to organise photoshoot days where highly curated and professional images were taken to advertise the business to build up their new online profile. It was here I integrated my skills in the Adobe Suite to edit images and create campaigns (mockups, posters) to elevate the patisseries social media standard.

Young Communities Sector

Bendigo City Council, Bendigo

This position was undertaken as through work experience avenues as a means to become involved within my local community. Under the guidance of a mentor within the Young Communities sector of the Bendigo council, I was involved with a variety of age groups and getting them involved in different programs that the sector was looking to increase engagement with. Typically the individuals involved in these programs had experienced some form of behavioural difficulties. I interacted with many different individuals to get their perspective on how beneficial and enjoyable different activities were to identify areas of improvement within different audiences. This work environment encouraged me to be on my toes and professional, allowing me to become educated on the many situations that Bendigo youths were facing.
